We have therefore set up a modern laboratory directly in our clinic. We can carry out all urgent blood screenings and many other lab tests directly on site. We are well equipped for all mammals but also specifically geared towards our exotic patients. It goes without saying that our standard equipment also includes the analysis of ionized calcium, which is particularly important in reptiles, or uric acid in birds. Parasites are often found and extensively treated in other small animal practices after examinations of the feces are carried out. But few veterinarians are aware, that in exotic animals many parasites are actually part of the normal intestinal fauna.
